A public work born from listening
In Ascolto was born in the cross-border territory of Gorizia and Nova Gorica, where the border is a historical condition and symbolic imprint. It is not just a geographical line, but an experience that affects identities, relationships and horizons. The project takes the margin as poetic, political and human material, traverses its paradoxes and transforms it into a shared space of participation and a field of research that is not only aesthetic.
At the centre, public art and participatory art intertwine. From encounters, words, gestures and unmediated narratives, a choral lexicon takes shape, an emotional map of a human territory. Five listening paths with different communities gather perspectives on the border and take shape in the restitution to The Circle. The exhibition is a step in the process and presents Matteo Attruia's installations, starting from a linguistic and visual device that transforms 'state border' into 'border state'.

The circle — rediscovered space
In the heart of Gorizia, at Via Rastello 91, The Circle is a space given back to the community: a place to meet, produce culture and build relationships. Once a grocery store, today it is a regenerated space where meetings, workshops and exhibitions take place and relationships are consolidated.
